Finished structure in the stock pavilion. 3 weeks to make the frame, 1 week to laser cut and paint the acrylic panels and then 10 minutes to put in the plants...
We had critique sessions on Monday that were really helpful. Such as whether this could be an indoor or outdoor structure? Or how the plantings could form a system of habitats. Mainly, people loved how they could see the root-systems of the plants through the acrylic and someone mentioned that it reminded him of an "ant farm". They were all great ideas and I definitely need to built more prototypes and continue this process. I have a sense of pride over this project unfelt in other studios. It was an individual and yet a collaborative process all at the same time. And now I can stand back and say "Yeah, I BUILT this."
